At the heart of the eSMART K-ART lies an intelligent dual-battery input system, capable of simultaneously handling two DC power sources (9–18V) through an integrated ideal diode. This architecture ensures seamless parallel discharge, extended runtime, and automatic redundancy, without any manual switching or balancing. The unit supports all major battery chemistries — SLA, NiMH,LiFePO4 or Li-Ion — offering unmatched flexibility in the field.

For users working with AUDIOROOT eSMART batteries, the K-ART unlocks plug-and-play access to a full suite of smart battery telemetry: remaining capacity (%, Ah, Wh), voltage, current draw, power consumption, and accurate runtime estimation. Thanks to internal coulomb counters, the device can also provide similar real-time data when used with non-smart batteries, once properly calibrated. This advanced fuel gauging system is presented via dual OLED battery meters, ensuring precise monitoring at a glance.

Extensive Connectivity & Control

With a total of 16 DC outputs and 4 isolated USB ports, the eSMART K-ART offers one of the most comprehensive output configurations on the market. Designed for modularity and user control, it includes:

• 10 individually switchable DC outputs controlled by LED-illuminated push-button switches. Each button retains its state after reboot, streamlining power-up routines on set.

• 12 Hirose 4-pin outputs (2 front-facing, 10 rear-facing) grouped into 6 switchable pairs. Ideal for wireless receivers, mixers, preamps, and more.

• 4 XLR 4-pin outputs (1 front, 3 rear), each with its own dedicated switch for independent control of higher current gear.

• 4 USB 5V ports, fully isolated and always on, with a total output capacity of 3A — perfect for powering tablets, phones, Wi-Fi hubs, and other accessories.

Built for Safety & Reliability

Safety and reliability are central to the K-ART’s design. Each DC output is protected by resettable Polyswitch fuses:

• 2.5A on Hirose outputs

• 4.0A on XLR outputs

• 8.0A on each battery input

In addition, a blinking low-battery warning LED activates when a battery drops below 10% capacity — offering clear, visual cues to take action before interruptions occur.

The K-ART’s main power switch enables quick shutdown of the entire unit, while individual output control lets users tailor power routing to match their exact workflow. With its compact aluminum chassis (228 x 120 x 44 mm) and weight of just 700g, the K-ART is ideal for both permanent cart installations and mobile setups requiring transportability and space efficiency.

Options & Customization

To meet a variety of voltage needs, the eSMART K-ART can be configured with several regulated DC/DC converters. These modules are fully isolated and available on selected outputs:

• 12V/20W or 12V/30W converters on XLR outputs #1 and #2

• 12V/12W converters on Hirose output pairs #4 and #5

The K-ART can handle standard (non smbus) batteries from other manufacturers up to 40Ah. For power-intensive projects, a custom version of the K-ART is also available, capable of managing batteries up to 200Ah, making it suitable for extended outdoor shoots or large-scale production setups.
